Sujeolsin Baekjang

  • Baekjang served as “Daejehak” during the reign of King Gongmin in Goryeo Dynasty. However, as Yi Seong-gye’s reform collapsed Goryeo, he moved to Chiaksan Mountain to establish Neo-Confucianism and foster younger students. He was exiled to Jangsu for refusing the call from Taejo Yi Seong-gye and Taejong Yi Bang-won, who had difficulties in handling the agitation among people in the early days of Joseon Dynasty. He died in Jangsu in 1418.
